Denise D. Pieratti
Engagement Manager,
Element K
Denise Pieratti has been in the vanguard of the
Information Technology arena for over twenty
years. She has consistently been a leader in
evaluating, embracing and training others in the
new technologies that were emerging and
soon to be employed by the general business
population. Her career has been a microcosm
of the growth of information technology and its ability to turn a corner and
emerge changed but better.
Denise began her career in Information Technology at Xerox. Among her
accomplishments was converting paper-based training into Xerox’s first hypertext
training product. She led the group that developed internal business applications
and web sites for Xerox Corporation. She designed a usability lab, and trained
staff on observational techniques, videotaping, data analysis and reporting
techniques that were implemented in the Xerox.com portal, as well as sales force
automation tools and financial modeling applications. By 2000 she was managing
internal/external marketing and press communications as Strategy Manager for the
Document Solutions Group.
Throughout her career, Denise’s contributions to supporting women in
technology have been exemplary. Several organizations have recognized her
contributions. In 2001, she received the Italian American Woman of the Year in
Civic Affairs award presented to recognize the contributions of women today so
that the next generation will form positive self-identity and be encouraged to carry
on work for the common good. In 2002 she received the prestigious “W” Award,
presented by the Rochester Women’s Network for her work on behalf of women,
for providing the inspiration of leadership, and for giving of herself so that other
women may learn, grow, advance, and succeed.
In her personal time, Denise brings her love for figure skating to the Genesee
Region Special Olympics as a figure skating coach. She is a Big Sister to a young
woman in the Rochester area and has been with her for over 3 years now. Denise
is an active member of her church and volunteers her talents as an expert quilter
by donating her exquisite hand made quilts to raise money for women and families
in need in our community.
