IT Woman of the Year Nominee:

Lynn M. Garski

Global Alliances Director,
EDS Corporation

 

Lynn Garski Lynn’s career successes and achievements are a testament to her commitment to learning, thought leadership and mastery at building relationships.

Joining EDS in 1985 as a systems engineer in development, Lynn completed all the technical training offered by the company.  She progressed through the technical ranks to Systems Engineer and then through several levels of Technical Management and Account Management.  Lynn accepted several special assignments at EDS to advance her skills and gain new experiences and has relocated 7 times with the company.  Lynn also worked in sales for EDS calling on new clients across industries at the CXO level offering EDS Information Technology Solutions.  

In 2001, Lynn moved to the EDS Global Alliances organization and is responsible for managing a global alliance relationship with Xerox. It is through this relationship that Lynn is responsible for setting global alliance strategy and transacting over a billion dollars in business.   In 2004, she became a founding member of the EDS Agility Alliance, whose mission is to create a seamlessly integrated platform that delivers robust, relevant and value driven technology services to clients around the globe.  In February 2008 the EDS Agility Alliance received the 2008 Alliance Program Excellence Award.

At EDS Agility Alliance Lynn also contributes to the team responsible for publishing synnovation, a professional journal targeted to C-level enterprise leaders. This journal has won many awards including the 2008 ASAP Alliance Excellence Award; the 2006 APEX Award for publishing excellence; the 2006 Magnum Opus Gold Award; a 2006 Bronze Quill Award; a Gold Pearl and four Best Outsourcing Thought Leadership (BOTL) Awards.

She is a member of EDS’ “Community of Thought Leaders”.  She is on an EDS team that provides opportunities for mock interviewing to RIT students.   She has been on an advisory board for the E. Phillip Saunders College of Business at RIT since September 2003 and helps provide an industry perspective to the Management Information Systems (MIS) curriculum.  She is also the Secretary of the Parent Board at Mercy High School. 

Lynn shares her belief in empowerment and philanthropy with her daughter, whom she has helped start a small business.  She encourages her daughter to share some of the business profits with local charities.     

Lynn is a graduate of Syracuse University.
