Breast Cancer” Sunday, September 30, 2007
Once again, the AWC-UNY chapter joined up with breast cancer survivor and former board member Norma Leone to walk in the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" event.
The team was made up of Tony and Norma Leone, along with their grandchildren Juliana and Matt Leone, Crista Deniz and daughter Abby, Helen Gulak and daughter Miriam Koesterich, Renee Davias, Sierra Stiller Siager, Erinn Magin, and friends.
So far, the group has raised $2,937 in donations!
Genesee Valley Girl Scouts & AWC's "GetTech. Now" Program,
April 2007
The AWC has an exciting opportunity to help bridge the gender
technology gap. By working closely with the Girl Scouts organization,
the AWC will help "Brownies" and "Juniors" to
earn technology-related badges. We are seeking volunteers to join
in working with Girl Scouts staff members to plan, organize and
facilitate a limited number of workshops that will result in the
girls being awarded their technology badges. The planning and preparation
will occur over the next few months, with the workshops scheduled
in April 2007.
